His achievement on CSR

Beyond his loving nature at home, Wigwe's heroics as Access Bank's CEO continued to be talked about. AbdulFatai Khan, a key account officer at Moniepoint, looked at CSR generally.

He told Legit.ng:

“I must say Access Bank’s CSR was very instrumental at the time of Herbert Wigwe. He achieved several key projects that are still helpful till date. Generally speaking, CSR of banks and other companies are targeted at giving back to the society in which the business exist. Some are of the opinion that CSR being provided by banks are not sufficient enough to satisfy the purposes of the CSR due to the level of expectations by the society and corruption. What could be done better is to align the CSR to the immediate needs of the society. No CSR should be done just to satisfy ego or for the sole purpose of propaganda. CSR implementation should be monitored for effectiveness and efficiency."
